So it’s been a month of change again….
( don’t bother to pretend to look shocked and/or concerned if you don’t know by now it’s always this way then I’m not sure why you’re reading this)
So the same day I received my first full month’s pay check from the new job was also the same day my laptop hard drive decided to go comatose, my purse went awol (since recovered thank goodness), and a major network glitch at work seriously rewrote my presentation. I should note this is after the week of moving hell . Enmax if you are reading this - you are a pain to deal with.
So my drive is off in the hands of a data recovery specialist, because it was in the middle of burning my Q2 backups to disk when it decided to take a vacation. I’ve got a new HD and shiny new OS X including Time Machine. As a treat for myself I have a new iPhone - yay!
I never realized how many pieces of useful software, various bookmarks, and what not were built up since the last incident. Now I’m realizing what’s missing one file/folder/bookmark/tool at a time. Bloody pain in the butt.
I was hoping when I moved to Edmonton I’d get back some of the good habits I acquired in Singapore - regular blogging and running for example - but so far no luck. Just work, stress, and the occasional night off to try to balance out the stress. Whee!
Oh yeah…. S is moving to Edmonton in the fall. ^_^ That will be exciting when the scary wears off.
