So I’m in Stoon and mucking about on the crutches and it’s making me feel very tired and bleh.

This however did brighten my day. After all, who would expect the most used spreadsheet program in North America to have worse multiplication than me?

I’m not quite sure precisely what it is about being on campus that makes me feel stalled out and like a failure, but something inherently does. Or maybe it’s just annoying to be paying tuition and know that student loans are also going to be trying to take a chunk out of my broken, crutch defendant hide. One blood sucker at at time would be nice.

I’ll be in Stoon next week for those interested in doing lunch or some such. ^_^

In the meantime, this came to me via e-mail and I thought it was entertaining enough to share with the world (or at least those people still actually reading this):

Job Related Reading for Geeks

I’ve actually been fairly productive today and expect I will tomorrow as well. It’s nice to get back into the swing of things and it makes me want to reschedule the trip to Stoon, but since KJ is going on vacation the week after for the first time in a dog’s age it’s not really possible. Nor would it be fair really given both A and I took non-illness related time off over the summer and KJ didn’t get to.

So I had my first request to block facebook today from a client. As a result of one secretary over using it - no one in the building will be able to access the site. Is this fair? Should IT policies have to restrict on a broad scale as a preventative measure because 1 person is abusing the system?

I may have over done my newly found movement today. I was out non-stop at client’s locations for roughly six hours - I ate lunch in the car at stop lights again today. And while that’s not a lot with two good feet - it was brutal with only the one crutch. My body was informing me in no uncertain terms what exactly it thought of this stunt all the way home. Bleh.

And this weekend I’m going to engage in the Settlers of Catan tourney at FallCon with T and J who are both in from different cities. For the interested I should be in Stoon next week.

Okay - time to try moving again and hopefully its just the aches of readjustment.

Okay so now I can finally toddle around without the crutches. Went out Saturday with just cast and cane. Went out Sunday - then needed to sit still for a while. So not entirely free like a bird just yet. But working on it….

Today was a Monday where I definitely could sympathize with this:

It’s colder and overcast and it’s starting the decent into the evil energy drain that is winter. Not looking forward to that. On the other hand I just found this link via a friend’s blog and all I can say is huzzah for them.

So I did a flying trip through Saskatoon recently and decided that it really is true that Canada has only two seasons.

I am making progress towards walking under my own steam and hope to report that I’m looking cool with a cane in short order. Well, maybe not *that* short, but soon enough to make attending this:

on the Friday evening a distinct possibility.

I’ll be coming from Stoon, but heading on to Calgary afterwards if the current work schedule holds. I’m starting to pick up the threads of work again. I’m not back at full pace - I doubt anyone on crutches could be - but I’ve got a wrap on one project this month and probably two more next. Which is somewhat good because it looks like I’ll be in Stoon for the entirety of November. :( It’s stupid and cold there at that time of year and I’m not particularly looking forward to it.
