So I went to see Pirates 3 this evening. You must all go and watch it now so that I can write about it…

In short with no spoilers: Beautiful sword work without going too far over the top (as they did in 2 *sigh*), interesting tying in of additional sea legends, and the best ship to ship battles I’ve seen since Master and Commander.

The world has an entertaining sense of irony right now. I am not a hello kitty fan and, if I recall correctly, I once told a friend I would strand her if she purchased the hello kitty toaster. And now a friend unaware of the previous incident and unconnected with it any way, gave to me a hello kitty toaster. It is a remarkably functional toaster… but in addition to looking like hello kitty - it toasts hello kitties face into every thing which enters it.

I’m generally not a big fan of online social networking sites, but facebook turned up in my inbox and so I clicked. Ironically enough I may have finally found a basement suite here in Calgary - via the facebook marketplace. And entertainingly enough the house in which the suite is contained is pink.

So via a tool I originally had every intention of ignoring and in a house painted a colour I instinctively despise I may have finally found the right place to live in this god awful housing market.

I haven’t written much in here lately because there is not a lot from my perspective to say. I attend meetings, I shuffle paper, I write code, and other times I install things on server or desktops/laptops. Talking about this would bore the majority of you to tears.

So soon there will be a change. The blog will be getting split. public.lexrobertson.ca will be for the general feed - quizzes, travel plans, etc and techie.lexrobertson.ca will be where I ramble about work and technical things. Presumably I’ll write more about that before it happens.

A final word from our sponsor: See Pirates 3!!!
