Have arrived in Calgary.

This comic describes my feelings after getting the last of my stuff and cleaning taken care of from my apartment.

Speaking of which if anyone in Stoon is looking for a bachelor suite with utils included then email me. My former landlady is still looking for a tenant. And as she’s a sweet lady and the apartment is a deal I told her I’d let people know. The easiest way to do so of course being either to spam everyone’s inboxes or to post it here. ^_^

In other news, everyone who came out to the Hose rocks. I think much fun was had by all and I certainly enjoyed the downtime.

Is that all the DVDs, CDs, etc are all in boxes behind tape.

Random Fact: It’s the waiting that gets you.

I found this entertaining:

Spike
54% amorality, 81% passion, 36% spirituality, 63% selflessness
Ruthless, passionate, ravenous and–when it comes to it–devoted to those you love. Sound okay? Sounds like Spike, a character at times a hero and others a villain, but always compelling, dynamic and driven.

Based on the results of this test, you’re like Spike in every way but the fangs.

Congratulations!

They say a change is a good as a rest and I certainly hope its true, because it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting at lot breaks in the next little while.

Breaks are really just when I switch between all the things which are due to drain some more juice from my brain in a different fashion.

For the record, this will be my third consecutive weekend in the lab. I’m exceptionally sick of it and the view of the inside of my apartment too.

Meanwhile, I meant to write an actual review of Grindhouse which I really don’t have time for now which sucks, but Ryan has written one which I like - warning it contains spoilers.

Sometimes life just throws you a curve. Sometimes its good, as was the case earlier today, and sometimes its bad, but it always leaves you feeling just a little bit dizzy.

I was catching up on some of my IT news while trying to process the latest news and came across an interesting article about employee retention in the IT industry.
Here’s a quote:
“money is not one of the top reasons people switch jobs in the industry. “People either say my boss was a jerk, or I wasn’t challenged,”
(Lex’s note: the industry specifically referred to above is the IT industry)

I’m curious to ask both the geeks and the non-geeks in the readers to speak out on this one. I know I’ve changed jobs both because of a lack of challenge and because I didn’t have a good relationship with my boss, but I’ve never left an IT job for another IT job because of the money. On the other hand I know a friend who puts up with hell from their boss and only stays for the money.

Comments?

1 left to go today.

Then sleep.

A random link for the geeks.

Also my pet peeve about Microsoft Word: automatic link creation of a hyperlink. I’m making a text document people that means blue underlines are a pain and no one is ever going to click on the damn thing with the intention of launching a web browser.

When I wake up next it will be finals. That’s a scary thought right now.

In an anti-climatic fashion I’ll admit, but we’re still in none the less.

So admittedly are the Vancouver Canucks who took the division title.

So now once I get the next week and a day over with (2 more projects and 2 finals also hopefully the results from the job interview) I have something to look forward to, aside from sleep.

So I went to the theatre with a friend to catch Shooter.

While we were in line to get tickets we ran into John with a pair of tickets for Grindhouse which another person hadn’t turned up to collect.

So we got to go!! It was awesome. Somewhat of a spoiler: American muscle car chases!

That was a nice case of random chance working out. = D
